Hello

Dr. Miyamoto is the founder of our company and has been helping pets of Broward County since 2013. She has 10 year experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician before she became a veterinarian.  Her main focus is general practice and emergency medicine.

Dr. Miyamoto was born and raised in Japan and moved to the US when she was 15 to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Her parents and family stayed in Japan while she attended boarding school in Danville, California. After her college counselor told her that it would be extremely difficult to get into veterinary school, she switched paths and majored in Digital Graphics. However, during undergrad, she couldn't stop thinking about being around animals so she attended Western Career College and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2004. She started to work as a weekend technician for a high volume emergency clinic in San Leandro, California. After completing undergrad, she took night classes to finish up prerequisite classes so she could attend veterinary school. She eventually made her dream come true and received her degree from Ross University.

Although she is a Northern Cali-girl at heart, she discovered that she enjoys the tropical weather and beaches that South Florida has to offer. The beach is where she goes to relax and rejuvenate!  She currently has three dachshunds, Mabel, Charlie, and Ava and one kitty name Tora.

Our Story

I met Pam early in my career, when I was a new veterinarian at my first general practice. She had two dogs, Max and Scoobie—the loves of her life. Max was aging, nearing the end of his journey, while Scoobie battled chronic pancreatitis. Pam was devoted to them, bringing them in frequently for care, always concerned, always needing time to comfort them. I loved that part of my job—being there for people who love their pets deeply.

In those early days, I tried to keep an emotional distance from clients, afraid that getting too attached would make the inevitable losses too painful. But I also treated every patient as if they were my own, and when they passed, it felt like losing a part of my own family.

When Max’s time came, I struggled. I had been taught that my role wasn’t to tell clients what to do, but to educate them so they could make their own decisions. So, I held back. A few days later, Pam came in to see a senior veterinarian—one who had cared for Max his entire life. Without hesitation, he told her what I couldn’t: it was time. And that same hour, Pam said goodbye to Max.

I felt I had failed—not as a doctor, but as the compassionate veterinarian I wanted to be. I let my education and my fear override the reason I entered this profession in the first place: to guide people through the joys and heartbreaks of loving an animal.

A Second Chance

Ten years passed. My career evolved, my practice changed, but my friendship with Pam remained. She only reached out when she truly needed me, always respecting my time, always appreciative of my advice—even though I was no longer her primary veterinarian. And I never minded. Because when she called, it wasn’t for small talk. It was when she needed someone she could trust.

When Scoobie ended up in the ER, I helped her navigate the medical jargon, interpret test results, and advocate for Scoobie’s needs. When Scoobie was diagnosed with an abdominal tumor at 13 years old, we talked for hours about what was truly best for her.

And when it was finally time to say goodbye, I didn’t hesitate. I went to Pam, and I told her. This time, I didn’t let fear hold me back. I was honored to be there—not just as a veterinarian, but as a friend.

That moment reinforced why I do what I do. Why I was called to this profession. To be there for people like Pam, for pets like Scoobie. To offer not just medical care, but guidance, support, and understanding.

The Birth of a New Idea

Through our conversations, Pam planted a seed—an idea that would change everything. A veterinary concierge service.

At first, I laughed. I told her, “I just want you as my only client.” But she made me see the bigger picture. There are so many more “Pam and Scoobie” stories out there. More people who need a trusted veterinarian to guide them. More pets who deserve compassionate, dedicated care.

And that’s why we’re here today. Because sometimes, the best ideas come from the people—and pets—who change your life.
